My kids both wanted to be dinosaurs for Halloween this year. The my 13 year old went with the T Rex, and the 10 1/2 year old chose this velociraptor, and the sizing is tough, because you have to be really short for the child's one to fit, and he was about 3" too tall. I figured being too tall would be worse than having it large, so even though he's only 4' 9" or so, we went with the adult size. He JUST BARELY can wear this without it just being too large. He's a tiny kid, so it take a while to get the thing to inflate around him, and the motor has a bit of a problem keeping it adequately inflated so it is stiff enough to wear. That being said, these type of suits are never going to be easy to move around in, that's kind of the point. The issues my son has with it is 1) the zipper is in the back instead of the front like with the T Rex one. This makes it very awkward to get into and zipped without assistance. 2) the T Rex has removable gloves, so you can wear them or not, and the velociraptor has its hands attached. I was going to cut them off and sew elastic to the wrists to have it like the T Rex, but then we discovered that there is actually velcro at the wrists so you can pop your hands out. This is nice except the reality is problematic because for starters, you have to close the velcro as tight as you can around your wrists to keep the air in, and the velcro is scratchy as all hell and hurts the wrists. Not only that, but the velcro section is tight to even get a 10 year olds hands through, and putting them through is a scratchy experience too. We cut the toes out of a couple of socks so he could put them on his wrists to cushion from the velcro, and those makeshift wrist guards should make it wearable, but it also has the added detriment of having floppy second pair of hands next to your hands when you put them through so you can actually use your hands. So, I would recommend staying with the T Rex version. It is just designed better. Not only the above, but the velociraptor also has a longer head/nose. So the nose is often dipped down more into the field of view, making it harder to see. Granted, this might not be a problem if a full sized adult was wearing the adult costume, but I'm here giving my thoughts so there it is. It's still pretty dang cool, and fun, so I'm giving 4 stars instead of 3. Just buyer beware with this one.
