Dinosaur - All You Need to Know BEFORE You Go ()

I was having trouble deciding whether this was an okay ride for me because I'd seen a lot of reviews saying that it was very frightening, rough, and loud. But looking at the POV videos on youtube made me want to try it anyway. I'm glad I did, because I loved it. I personally didn't find it to be scary, it just felt like an adventure. The dinosaurs are animatronics, and while well-done, they definitely don't look like real dinosaurs that would actually eat me, so I didn't feel scared of them. They were cool, actually. The ride is dark for sure though. As far as noise levels, I thought it was similar to other rides. Actually, I would say the volume was similar to Figment, which is on the louder side, but not deafening. It is also rough, but I thought it was tollerable. I have low bone density, so I was worried before riding about hurting my back. But I was okay.
Basically, you sit in a large-wheeled car and are restrained by a regular seatbelt. I found that by planting my feet and pulling back on the hand bar in front of me, I had a decent amount of control over my bouncing around. I was definitely still bouncing, and the car makes sharp turns, but I wasn't flopping around like a rag doll or afraid of getting whiplash or anything. If you brace yourself, you'll be fine unless you have an active injury or significant back condition. I thought the ride was so much fun, I rode twice. I really liked this.

Any idea on when dinosaur ride is supposed to close?

AK is already the park with the least amount of repeat factor IMO. It's an amazing park the first few times but after that it diminishes quickly, It was our second favorite park after our very first visit to WDW, but now is a distant 4th. We try to do it on arrival day now, and that's it for the rest of our 8-10 night stay. AK also has very few rides so taking away Dinosaur is pretty significant.

I am in total agreement that Dinoland needed to go, but why not just take out the "carni" area. The area around Dinosaur attraction itself is really nicely done. The carnival was the only real problem. It just didn't fit (Yeah, I know the backstory of Walt and carnivals and fairs, etc...). The area just felt cheap and didn't fit in with the Imagineering and quality of the rest of the park(s). HAPPY to see that go.
