I have been lusting after a pair of these forever. As all birders will tell you, when you meet a fellow birder, they will look down at your torso and not at your face. Yes, we all judge each other on our bins and you are lying if you claim you don't. Now, with my classic Swarovskis, I can bird without shame. They are also amazing bins, of course. They are incredibly sharp and bright. No "irritating" rings or outlines to be found (as the very German manual describes it). The focus mechanism is smooth and your settings stay in place. They are so so much better than my old Nikon Monarchs, although I couldn't tell you how these fare against other expensive bins. However, as practically every guide and serious birder has these hanging from their neck, it's hard to imagine how you could go wrong. They are heavy so you will want a proper harness vs. the neck strap. Also, they don't come with a protective carrying case, which I found super odd considering how much they cost. Swarovskis sell cases for like $100 which is obscene so I ended up buying a case (Ekeskey 50mm) on Amazon for $15 which is perfect for protection if you tend to just toss your bins into your backpack as I do.
