Why encourage childrens interest in how to draw a dinosaur? A blog post titled A Psychological Explanation for Kids Love of Dinosaurs shares that the subject is actually very beneficial for childrens cognitive development.
A study found that sustained interest in a conceptual domain like dinosaurs, can help children increase their knowledge, create a better attention span, and form deeper thought processing skills. In short, they make better learners and smarter kids. What could be better than that?
Learning how to draw a dinosaur will always part of their fascination, as children can then draw all their fierce features exactly the way they want. This tutorial is made for those that would like to draw one with all the sharp teeth and powerful claws, but keep a twinkle in a rather friendly eye too.

Buy on AmazonWell start this drawing of a T rex by drawing the head. Start at the right end and make an egg-like shape, not making a full egg shape.
It doesnt have to be exactly the same or perfect; it can be more boxy or more round or oval, and it will turn out great, just the same.
Next, lets make a face well be making a cute dinosaur drawing, not a scary one. Draw an eye and an arch above the eye (like an eyebrow). Draw a line for the mouth and make nostrils above the mouth line.
Finish up the face by drawing sharp teeth below the mouth.
Next comes the neck. Continue the line on the right and make a curved line, like a round bracket, on the left.
You cant draw a dinosaur, especially a T-rex, without cute hands. Make a hand. Once you are done, draw a line for the back.
The hind leg is next.
Bring it all together by drawing a curved line for the belly and drawing a tail.
You already know how to draw a pair of legs, so also draw the pair in the background.
Now draw lines that follow the belly line, from the head all the way to the tip of the tail.
Decorate! Draw lines on the belly and strips or spots on the back to give your cute dino drawing some texture.
Congratulations! You learned how to draw a dinosaur! The only thing left is to color in your drawing (and draw more of them).
