SILVADUR&#; uses a patented polymer technology to deliver silver ions via an &#;intelligent control&#; mechanism. When bacteria land on the surface of treated articles, the silver ions neutralize the unwanted organisms, resulting in effective microbe-derived protection. SILVADUR&#; binds to bacterial DNA preventing replication, causing changes to the cellular membrane so it cannot function properly.

SILVADUR&#; antimicrobial technology is particle free and readily water-dilutable, forming phase stable and solids-free finishing bath solutions for easy and rapid processing of fabric when used appropriately. The product is dilutable in textile treatment baths and forms an insoluble interpenetrating polymer network with silver ions when applied to a fabric.

SILVADUR&#; has been assessed to be harmless and non-sensitizing to human skin. Third-party clinical evaluations found no evidence that SILVADUR&#; either irritates or sensitizes human skin.

SILVADUR&#; uses less silver than other technologies, generating less waste without compromising performance.

SILVADUR&#; contained in textiles is also recyclable at the end of the textile's life and it is reusable during textile application process.

SILVADUR&#; products are approved by the the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and do not contain any components listed by the State of California under the Prop 65 regulation.
